Access Service Rep

Responsibilities:

  • Discussing relevant information with patients, caregivers, family member and through informal interviewing gathering the appropriate data necessary for accurate and complete records.
  • Inputting patient demographics and other relevant data into hospital information systems accurately and comprehensively.
  • Navigating Multiple software applications and interpreting financial and insurance information along the way.
  • This role will allow you to apply your skills and competencies while building your career within a New Jersey premier health - care system Supporting the accuracy of a patient's lifetime clinical record and financial data to ensure timely and successful reimbursement.
  • This position reports to the emergency department within Access Service.
  • Hours are varied to assist with the needs of a 24 hour/7 day per a week department.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of ICD, CPT and medical coding/terminology
  • Previous experience with health-care registration and scheduling
  • Previous experience with health insurance a plus Retail/Hospital and/or customer service industry experience
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously with complete accuracy of data entries are required. Answering heavy inbound phone volume.
  • Completing required follow-up in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Proficient with MS office (word,excel,outlook) is preferred.
  • Ability to type is required.
  • Bilingual a plus (spanish)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
